Affiliate disclosure

Some retailer links on Freshie are affiliate links. Here's exactly what that means and which retailers we partner with.

    The short version: When you click a "Buy" or retailer link on Freshie and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission. This adds nothing to your cost. We only partner with retailers we'd use ourselves and we never base brewery recommendations on which retailers carry them.
  

How affiliate links work here

Freshie shows freshness sensitivity warnings, brewery date code formats, and shelf life curves. We're not a beer retailer. But many people who use the site want to buy the beer they just looked up — so we link out to retailers that ship craft beer.

When we have an affiliate relationship with a retailer, the link includes a tracking parameter that credits us if you complete a purchase. The cost to you is the same; the retailer pays us a percentage of their sale.

All affiliate links on Freshie are routed through our /go redirect page, which displays a brief disclosure before sending you to the retailer. This complies with FTC affiliate disclosure guidelines and gives you a chance to back out before the redirect.

Our editorial independence

The freshness data, brewery profiles, style guides, and date code documentation on Freshie are not influenced by affiliate relationships. We document brewery formats based on documentation and verification — not on whether the brewery is sold by a partner retailer.

If a brewery isn't in our database, it's because we don't have verified format documentation for them. Adding a brewery to the database doesn't require any commercial relationship — we accept community-submitted brewery additions via GitHub.

Adjust freshness verdicts based on retailer relationships
Sell user data to advertisers (we don't have user data — see our privacy policy)
Run display ads or sponsored content
